Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim admits the team was once great under Sir Alex Ferguson but is no longer so.
On December 7, 2014, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim admitted that his club is still one of the most famous in the world. But in terms of performance on the pitch, they have yet to reclaim their place as a top team.
Since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, Manchester United have been without a Premier League title and Amorim insists there is no shame in admitting. They are no longer a top-flight club, and says his and his coaching staff’s mission is to get United back to the top.
“I think that is very clear,” said Amorim. “We’re a massive club, but we’re not a massive team and we know it, so it’s no problem to say it. That [สมัคร ufabet perception of United as a massive club] will not change, because this club has glories in the past. Our players have to understand that it’s a very difficult position.
“We’re not one of the best teams in the league and we have to say and think that clearly. But our past, our club, is maybe the best one in the league. So here we have a problem. We have to focus on the little things and little details. If you think about everything, then it will be a problem. So think about the small details and then we will improve it as a team.
“We are a great club, but we are not a great team right now,” Amorim said.
“And We are not one of the best teams in the league right now. We have to accept that and think about it clearly. But in terms of history, our club is probably the best in the league.”
